It never fails to thrill the LJR team when a new retailer joins the ever growing global band of supporters. This week, the team is celebrating new ties that have been made with the delightful Cynthia, who owns the successful boutique, Hours and Ours, with branches in both Taipei and Taichung, in Taiwan. Cynthia took time out of her busy schedule to tell us why she chose Le Jardin Retrouvé.
How did you discover Le Jardin Retrouvé?
I first came across Le Jardin Retrouvé by chance while watching a foreign YouTuber’s review. It was my first-time learning about this brand. A 15ml green perfume bottle caught my attention with its petite and exquisite design, which I found adorable. The green bottle cap and arched body had a French style that reminded me of the iconic Arc de Triomphe and the sunny Provence in southern France.

Later on, I finally had the opportunity to experience the brand first hand. The passion and fragrance that the brand brought forth made me feel vibrant and captivated, deeply drawing me in with every breath. As a result, I had the idea of bringing this experience back to Taiwan and sharing it with everyone.
What do you like about the brand?
In May 2023, at ESXENCE in Milan, I had an informal meeting with the founder, Michel and his wife, Clara. Through them, I could see their passion for perfumes, their sincerity, and dedication. It further reinforced my belief that I was engaged in something I love and am passionate about. Despite the challenges along the way, I enjoy it and find it incredibly fascinating! Additionally, what impressed me deeply was the hugs we shared whenever we met. Every time we met, Michel and Clara would always give me a warm, heartfelt embrace, a simple yet gentle gesture filled with blessings. Hugs are not a common occurrence in everyday life in Asia.

I believe Le Jardin Retrouvé’s fragrances are an interpretation and experience of our attitude towards life. They remind us to not only live in the present but also to love ourselves, cherish our homes, and care for our planet.
